Deloitte's Futuretarians

To solve the problem of requesting the energy usage data from the smart meters, we have developed for SlimWonen a cloud-based virtual server that requests and aggregates energy usage data from the Dutch Energy Data Services.

Fixing the root cause

We partnered up with the Twinstone Group to develop the SlimWonen app that provides people with insights on their energy consumption at home and helps them adopt more sustainable behaviours.

After creating a new set of digital solutions for SlimWonen, we have continued the partnership helping them offer new features to both the mobile app users and the housing corporations. Through our collaboration, we have helped the SlimWonen team increase their digital capacity by providing them with tools, documentation and tech education on, for example, digital security and software management.

Voor Slimwonen hebben wij een cloudbased virtuele server ontwikkelt die energieverbruik gegevens van de Dutch Energy Data Services opvraagt en samenvoegt, waardoor het probleem met opvragen van energieverbruikgegevens van slimme meters is opgelost. 



De oorzaak verhelpen

We zijn een samenwerking aangegaan met de Twinstone Group om hun nieuwste duurzaamheidsoplossing te ontwikkelen; een app om mensen thuis aan te sporen om duurzamere gewoontes van energieverbuik aan te nemen. 

Met de missie om mensen te helpen duurzamer energiegedrag in huis aan te nemen, heeft het team van SlimWonen een app bedacht die huurders inzicht geeft in hun energieverbruik in huis. De gebruiker krijgt naast de energieverbruikgegevens ook tips om hun energiekosten te verlagen. Om deze app gratis te kunnen aanbieden, werkt SlimWonen nauw samen met woningcorporaties die de app aan hun huurders aanbieden.

Om hun energieverbruik per huurder zichtbaar te maken, is de SlimWonen-app gekoppeld aan de slimme meters van de verschillende energieleveranciers in Nederland. Het team van SlimWonen benaderde ons met de vraag of wij ervoor kunnen zorgen dat zij volledige controle over de app hebben. Verder is gebruiksvriendelijkheid verbeterd en is er een betere achtergrondtechnologie geimplementeerd die 
het mogelijk maakt om gemakkelijk energieverbruikdata op te vragen.

With the mission of helping people adopt more sustainable energy behaviours at home, the SlimWonen team has devised an app that provides tenants with insights into their energy consumption at home. This information is shown to the user next to tips on how to reduce energy consumption, and consequently, energy costs. To be able to provide this app for free, SlimWonen works closely with housing corporations that offer the app to their tenants.

Together with SlimWonen, we have designed and developed a fully new solution that strengthens their product and business model. 

The brand new app provides complete ownership to the SlimWonen team and access to modify the app’s content at any point. The new technology improves and secures the process of fetching data about energy consumption.

The cloud-based mobile application is compatible with both iOS and Android, scalable, and considers security at its core.

Users can find in the new app multiple features that make it easier to stay on top of the energy consumption and encourage them to be more sustainable.

The new Denim City website enables the team to keep their community up to date with their latest events and manage an online shop. Not only that, through this translation of its brand to the digital space, Denim City has updated and strengthened its presence within the local denim industry.

Denim City’s brand and community needed an online space to host an online shop and keep the community up to date with their latest events and workshops. We worked with their brand designer to produce a website that would align with Denim City’s brand identity and enable the institute to continue extending its reach digitally.

To strengthen Denim City’s brand and digital presence, we created a mobile-first responsive website. The focus of the project was to translate the existing design vision and brand guidelines of Denim City into a safe and responsive website that the team could self-manage.

A new and aligned digital presence

As an educational institute with a diverse offer of workshops and events, the team at Denim City needed full control over their website to keep the content up to date. We worked with them in the handover of the platform and ensured they can maintain it themselves with a WordPress built-in CMS system.

Control over  their online content

Denim City’s online traffic is mainly via mobile phone. With that in mind, we followed a mobile-first design and development approach to ensure not only responsiveness but as well that Denim City’s brand style would be uniform over all possible browsers and screen sizes.

The result of this collaboration is an insolvency auctioning platform with state of the art encryption security and scalability, that provides our client with the leading competitive advantage for their new venture.

Through a full-service process, our client remained in control of the project while requiring little time for them.

Door gebruikersonderzoek en prototyping hebben we ervoor gezorgd dat zowel de bruikbaarheid als de waargenomen transparantie van het platform onder controle was. 

Op basis van een grondige technische analyse hebben we een robuust webplatform gecreëerd dat een groot aantal gelijktijdige gebruikers en transacties aankan. Door de overhead en datastructuur dienovereenkomstig te beheren, heeft het platform een ​​zeer hoge prestatie.

Through user research and prototyping, we ensured that both the usability and perceived transparency of the platform was in check. 

Based on a thorough technical analysis, we created a robust web platform, able to handle an extensive number of concurrent users and transactions. By managing accordingly the overhead and data structure, the platform has a very high performance.

Instead of relying on third-party services and increasing the running costs for our client, we developed for this platform each different functionality from the ground up. For example, we created a custom digital signing feature, instead of acquiring an expensive pre-made one, saving our client money and keeping the platform scalable and secure.
