Hire AWS engineers

Our senior AWS engineers design, deploy and optimise cloud infrastructure as full-time members of your team. Every engineer is tested in a real environment, including whether they spot generated Terraform that works but costs far more than it should.

What changed about working in AWS

01

AI-generated infrastructure code can cost too much

Engineers can generate working Terraform or CloudFormation in seconds, so the baseline has shifted from syntax to cost and security judgement. An AWS engineer who can't audit AI-generated IaC for wasteful resource sizing or over-permissive IAM adds risk to every deploy.

02

Faster pipelines are easier to misconfigure

AI tooling accelerates CI/CD scaffolding, but it also produces pipelines that skip least-privilege principles or hardcode credentials in ways that aren't immediately obvious. AWS engineers now spend more time reviewing what the agent produced than writing the pipeline themselves.

03

Cost is now a daily engineering job

Reserved instances, Savings Plans and right-sizing decisions used to belong to a finance or platform team review cycle. With AI generating infrastructure at speed, engineers are now expected to catch cost spikes before they compound, rather than waiting for the monthly bill.

What we test for

How we assess AWS engineers

Every engineer works through a fundamentals assessment with AI tools switched off and a second assessment with their own agents running. For AWS engineers, these criteria carry the most weight.

AI output verification

We give the engineer AI-generated Terraform and ask them to identify resources that are functionally correct but architecturally expensive or insecure, exactly the gap that causes real production problems.

Debugging

AWS failures are often distributed across services, so the engineer has to trace an incident through CloudWatch logs, IAM policies and VPC flow logs without being pointed at where to start.

Judgement by risk

We watch whether the engineer flags a misconfigured S3 bucket policy or a missing cost allocation tag on their own initiative, rather than waiting to be told it matters.

Questions about hiring AWS engineers

How senior are the AWS engineers you place?

The AWS engineers we put forward have 6+ years' experience on average, and they've shipped and maintained production systems in AWS. Every one has passed both assessments, and you see both scorecards before you meet them.

How do you test AWS knowledge specifically?

The assessment runs in a real codebase over two sixty-minute assessments. In the first, AI tools are off, so we see whether the engineer can read and reason about infrastructure on their own. In the second, they use their own agents, and we watch how they verify and correct what those agents produce.

How quickly can an AWS engineer start?

You get a shortlist within five working days. From shortlist to first commit takes around three weeks, which covers interviews, onboarding and access setup. Timelines can shift if a candidate is mid-project.

What does an AWS engineer cost?

You pay a fixed monthly fee of €5,600 to €8,000 per full-time engineer, with employment, payroll and compliance included and no recruitment fee. The pricing page compares it with the all-in cost of a senior local hire in your country. Engagements are full-time with a three-month minimum, and if a placement doesn't work out, we replace them at our cost.

Do they work in our AWS accounts and tools or their own?

They work in yours. Engineers join your environment and use your accounts, your pipelines and your monitoring setup, so you can see everything they do.
